FFA is an intracurricular component of agricultural education and is the largest student-led organization in the country. Students enrolled in agriculture classes have the opportunity to become FFA members. These members develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through involvement in the National FFA Organization.
Each year we select officers to direct our FFA chapter in a positive direction. This year these officers are Kami Harmon (President), Caroline Jaquish (Vice President), Chloe Jones (Secretary), Alice Grace Beavers & Kendall Coffey (Reporters), Dustin Pitcock (Treasurer), and Rob Wilson (Sentinel). These officers develop our Program of Activities for the academic year, planning events, chapter meetings, and community service activities. They play an active role in leading McMinn County FFA Chapter.
Every month on the second Tuesday, FFA members meet after school in Mrs. Davis' room for monthly chapter meetings. During these meetings, members discuss and vote on potential events sponsored by FFA, participate in leadership activities, and fellowship with other members. The meetings begin after school and usually last until 4:30.
Students wanting to join McMinn County FFA Chapter must be enrolled in an agricultural class. Because of the many different agriculture pathways offered within the program, there are ample opportunities to find a class of interest. If you are wanting to join FFA or enroll in agriculture education, please see Mr. Shaver, Mrs. Morris, or Mrs. Davis for more details.
